The federal government has decided to lower the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) for the start of the 2026-27 fiscal year, ProPakistani has learnt from reliable sources.

The price of petrol has been reduced by Rs. 1.97 per litre to Rs. 297.5 per litre, while HSD’s rate was cut by Rs. 1.97 as well to Rs. 309.5 per litre for the next seven days.

An official notification from the Petroleum Division was shared shortly after to confirm the revised fuel prices, which will remain effective for one week.

In the previous weekly review, the government had left petrol prices unchanged. However, from the current pricing cycle, a Rs. 5 climate support levy on both petrol and diesel came into effect under the Finance Act, 2026.

Before the latest revision, petrol was priced at Rs. 299 per litre, while HSD stood at Rs. 315 per litre.
