The federal government has reduced the prices of both petrol and high speed diesel (HSD) for the latest pricing period, according to the updated fuel rate list issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

The price of motor spirit (MS) petrol has been cut by Rs. 3.19 per litre, bringing it down to Rs. 329.82 per litre. Meanwhile, the price of high speed diesel has declined by Rs. 1.50 per litre to Rs. 382.36 per litre.

The latest revision comes a day after petrol prices were increased by Rs. 4.45 per litre to Rs. 333.01 per litre, while diesel was reduced by Rs. 2 per litre to Rs. 383.86 per litre.

Since Pakistan shifted to daily fuel price revisions, petroleum rates have witnessed sharp movements. Petrol has increased by Rs. 19.11 per litre compared with the rate before daily pricing began, while diesel has surged by Rs. 60.06 per litre.
