Pakistan’s Muhammad Zubair has claimed the Tekken 8 world title at the Esports World Cup (EWC) in Paris, defeating South Korea’s LowHigh in a commanding 5-0 victory in the grand final.

The tournament, held from August 5 to 8, saw Zubair overcome a challenging start before making a remarkable run through the knockout stages and securing the championship.

The EWC hailed the Pakistani player’s unexpected rise after his triumph, posting on social media, “He came out of nowhere and took the crown!”

Zubair’s route to the final included a major victory over fellow Pakistani Tekken star Arslan “Ash” Siddique in the second group stage. The two met again in the semifinal, where Zubair edged Arslan 5-4 in a closely contested battle to book his place in the final.

Arslan, who was born in Lahore, is one of Pakistan’s most accomplished esports players and a prominent name in the international Tekken scene.

Zubair faced LowHigh in the championship match and produced a dominant performance, winning all five games to complete a 5-0 sweep and secure the world championship.

The title also earned Zubair a $250,000 cash prize, adding a major international esports achievement to Pakistan’s growing presence in competitive gaming.
