The Pakistani rupee extended its winning streak against the US dollar on Monday, closing higher for the 206th consecutive trading day.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the rupee appreciated by one paisa to settle at Rs. 277.8618 against the US dollar, compared with Rs. 277.8714 in the previous session.

The local currency has strengthened against the dollar in every trading session since December 25, 2025.

Among regional currencies, the rupee also posted marginal gains against the UAE dirham and Saudi riyal, appreciating by 0.68 paisa and 0.65 paisa, respectively.

However, it weakened against several major global currencies. The rupee lost 29 paisas against the euro, seven paisas against the British pound, 46 paisas against the Australian dollar, nine paisas against the Malaysian ringgit, and four paisas against the Chinese yuan.

Meanwhile, the rupee gained 23 paisas against the Canadian dollar during the day’s trading.
