The Pakistani rupee (PKR) extended its winning streak against the US dollar for the 216th consecutive trading day on Monday, continuing its sustained appreciation since December 2025.

The rupee closed at 277.7019 per US dollar, gaining 0.0093 during the session.

The PKR has remained on an upward trend against the dollar since December 25, 2025, marking more than seven months of consecutive daily gains.

In the broader currency market, the rupee strengthened slightly against the UAE dirham but remained broadly stable against the Saudi riyal.

The PKR lost Rs. 1.21 against the euro, which closed at 321.1484, while the British pound gained Rs. 1.56 to reach 374.9670.

The rupee also weakened by Rs. 1.05 against the Australian dollar and Rs. 1.28 against the Canadian dollar, which closed at 196.4324 and 199.2766, respectively.

Against the Malaysian ringgit, the PKR lost 0.0143, while it weakened by 0.0114 against the Chinese yuan.

The UAE dirham closed at 75.6063, reflecting a gain of 0.0107 for the rupee, while the Saudi riyal ended at 73.9611, with the PKR gaining 0.0064.
