Pakistan and Belarus have agreed to expand agricultural cooperation by launching online business-to-business (B2B) trade in seafood, fruits, vegetables, seeds and dairy products while exploring joint investment in agricultural technology.

The understanding was reached during a meeting between Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research Rana Tanveer Hussain and Belarusian Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Yakovchits Aleksander.

Under the agreement, both countries will organize online B2B networking sessions to connect exporters, importers and agribusinesses, creating new opportunities for bilateral trade. Priority products include seafood, citrus fruits, mangoes, fruit puree, potatoes, seeds and dairy products.

Pakistan and Belarus also agreed to encourage companies to participate in food exhibitions and agricultural trade fairs in both countries to help businesses showcase products, build partnerships and expand market access.

The two sides will further facilitate visits by trade and business delegations to identify investment prospects and strengthen cooperation across the agriculture sector.

During the talks, both countries discussed collaboration in aquaculture, agreeing to exchange technology, technical expertise and best practices to support the development of modern fish farming.

Pakistan also proposed the establishment of an Agricultural Machinery Testing Centre at the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) with Belarus providing technical and financial support. Both sides agreed to evaluate the proposal, including equipment requirements and possible locations.

Technical teams from Pakistan and Belarus are expected to exchange visits before the end of 2026 to assess the project’s feasibility.

Rana Tanveer Hussain said Pakistan aims to transform its agricultural partnership with Belarus into practical commercial and technological opportunities that benefit farmers, agribusinesses and investors while strengthening food security.
