Commercial banks will keep their branches open for extended hours on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, to facilitate the payment of government duties and taxes.

Following a request from the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), all commercial bank branches will remain operational until 10:00 P.M. to allow taxpayers to make over-the-counter payments.

Banks have also been instructed to keep relevant branches open beyond regular hours where necessary to support the special clearing of government transactions processed through the National Institutional Facilitation Technologies (NIFT).

In addition, banks must ensure that their digital payment services remain available without interruption throughout the day. These include internet banking, mobile banking applications, ATMs and other online payment channels.

The arrangements are intended to ensure taxpayers can make government duty and tax payments through both physical bank branches and digital channels on September 30.
