The federal government has decided to keep petrol and high-speed diesel prices unchanged for the next fortnight, maintaining the current rates until the start of the new fiscal year.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, petrol will continue to retail at Rs. 299.78 per litre, while high-speed diesel will remain at Rs. 311.56 per litre.

The decision means consumers will see no change in fuel prices at the close of fiscal year 2025-26, with the existing rates remaining in effect for another week.

The move follows a significant reduction announced on June 19, when the government slashed petrol prices by Rs. 7.41 per litre and high-speed diesel prices by Rs. 6.79 per litre, bringing the rates down to their current levels.

The latest decision reflects the government’s choice to maintain fuel prices despite fluctuations in international oil markets and the exchange rate.
