The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a weather alert warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain, and hail in several parts of the country over the next 12 to 24 hours.
According to NDMA, the current weather conditions are in line with the seasonal outlook issued earlier by the National Emergencies Operation Center (NEOC) several months ago. The authority stated that ongoing developments match the advance weather warnings previously shared.
On the direction of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, NDMA also organized a National Monsoon Conference, during which pre-monsoon preparedness measures were reviewed.
The authority said that strong winds accompanied by thunderstorms and rain are expected in most regions of the country within the next 12 to 24 hours. Some areas may also experience hailstorms.
Islamabad and several districts of Punjab are likely to be affected by gusty winds and thunderstorm activity, with isolated hailstorms expected at certain locations.
