Meta will charge businesses in Pakistan significantly more for WhatsApp Business messages than businesses in several regional markets, with Pakistan’s new utility and service messaging rate set at nearly 11 times India’s rate from October 1, 2026.

Under the revised pricing, businesses in Pakistan will pay $0.015 for each utility, authentication, or service message. The corresponding rate in India is just $0.0014.

This means the same message will cost a Pakistani business around 10.7 times more than an Indian business.

Pakistan’s rate is also substantially higher than those in other nearby markets. The rate is 7.5 times Sri Lanka’s $0.002, 4.4 times Nepal’s $0.0034, and 4.1 times Bangladesh’s $0.0037.

MarketUtility/Service Message
India$0.0014
Sri Lanka$0.0020
Nepal$0.0034
Bangladesh$0.0037
Iraq$0.0079
Pakistan$0.0150

The new pricing will also change how service messages are charged. Meta is set to start charging for service messages, including messages sent within the customer service window that are currently free.

Businesses will still receive 1,000 free service messages per business phone number each month.

The difference could become significant for businesses handling large volumes of customer communication. For example, 300,000 monthly messages would cost around $4,500 in Pakistan under the new rate, compared with approximately $420 in India.

Meta’s new pricing structure will take effect on October 1, 2026.
