Kohat Cement Company Limited (KCCL) has dismissed reports claiming that the Peshawar High Court has stopped construction of its 28.5MW Coal-Fired Power Plant Project, saying no such order has been issued.

In a notice filed with the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the company said the clarification was issued following a news report published on July 10, 2026, regarding court proceedings related to the project.

KCCL stated that the Peshawar High Court has not directed the company to suspend construction or development of the power plant, and work on the project is continuing as planned.

The company said the project is being executed under the approvals granted by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and remains fully compliant with the applicable environmental requirements.

According to KCCL, the court only observed that the plant’s operations would remain subject to the necessary EPA approvals, which is a routine legal requirement under Pakistan’s environmental framework and does not amount to a stay order or project restriction.

Reaffirming its commitment to regulatory compliance, the company said the power plant will be completed and operated in accordance with all applicable laws, environmental regulations, official guidelines, and standard operating procedures issued by the relevant authorities.

Kohat Cement said the statement was issued to correct what it described as inaccurate reports regarding the status of the court proceedings.
