Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has announced a planned maintenance operation to repair a fault in one of its submarine internet cables. The work will be carried out by the International Cable Consortium and is scheduled from May 11 to May 18, 2026.
During this period, users across the network may experience slower internet speeds and possible service interruptions, especially during peak evening hours. PTCL has cautioned that the maintenance could temporarily affect overall connectivity quality.
The company stated that the repair work is necessary to restore the damaged submarine cable and improve long-term network stability and performance. It added that efforts are underway to complete the process as quickly as possible in coordination with the consortium partners.
PTCL has apologized for any inconvenience caused and assured customers that services are expected to become more stable and reliable once the maintenance activity is completed.
