Housing loans in Pakistan climbed to a record Rs. 286 billion in July 2026, supported by growing demand under the government’s Mera Ghar Mera Ashiana housing finance scheme.
The subsidized financing program has made home loans more affordable for eligible borrowers, encouraging more people to seek bank financing for housing.
The record level of housing credit signals stronger demand for mortgage financing and could help expand formal housing finance in Pakistan.
Continued growth in the scheme is also expected to improve mortgage penetration and increase the role of banks in providing housing finance.
