Pakistan has invited Saudi investors to explore opportunities in agriculture, minerals and mining as the government seeks to attract foreign investment and sustain recent economic improvements.

Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb met Saudi Ambassador Dr. Rajeh Tami Albugamy at the Finance Division on Thursday to discuss investment, trade and ways to expand economic cooperation between the two countries.

Aurangzeb briefed the ambassador on Pakistan’s improving economic conditions, citing stronger foreign exchange reserves, lower inflation and recent upgrades by international credit-rating agencies.

He also highlighted Pakistan’s return to international capital markets through a $3 billion Eurobond issuance and its access to China’s capital market.

The finance minister said the government wanted to use these developments to strengthen investor confidence and promote sustainable economic growth driven by investment.

The two sides discussed opportunities in agriculture, minerals and mining, along with other sectors offering potential for commercial cooperation.

Both sides stressed the need to turn existing areas of cooperation into concrete investment and business opportunities.

Aurangzeb reaffirmed the government’s commitment to structural reforms and a stable, predictable investment environment to encourage both domestic and foreign investors.

The Saudi ambassador highlighted the longstanding ties between the two countries, saying stronger business-to-business engagement could create new commercial opportunities and deepen relations.

The meeting also covered regional developments, with both sides emphasizing peace, stability and continued cooperation.

They discussed Pakistan’s geographic position and its potential to support regional trade, transit and connectivity.

The meeting reaffirmed the two countries’ commitment to expanding economic ties and strengthening cooperation in trade and investment.
