Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) has reportedly crossed 50 million pre-orders, generating an estimated more than $4 billion in sales ahead of its release, according to several well-known X (formerly Twitter) accounts that closely track the gaming industry.

Neither developer Rockstar Games nor parent company Take-Two Interactive has confirmed the figures, meaning the reported pre-order numbers and revenue estimates remain unverified.

If accurate, GTA 6 would become one of the largest entertainment launches of all time before the game has even been released. The title is already expected to shatter sales records when it launches in 2026, with demand remaining exceptionally high across major gaming platforms.

Meanwhile, one gamer drew attention online after claiming to have pre-ordered GTA 6 for less than $3. The buyer said they combined unused Best Buy reward certificates earned from a previous PS5 Pro purchase with a 10% discount coupon, reducing the final price to just under $3.

Rockstar has yet to disclose official GTA 6 pre-order numbers or launch-day sales projections.
