The federal government has once again increased petroleum prices, approving a fresh hike in petrol and diesel rates for the coming week.

Under the new notification, petrol has been increased by Rs. 14.92 per litre, while diesel has gone up by Rs. 15 per litre. After the revision, petrol will now cost Rs. 414.78 per litre and diesel Rs. 414.58 per litre.

The revised prices will take effect from Saturday, May 9, 2026.

This latest increase comes just days after a previous adjustment, in which diesel was raised by Rs. 19.39 per litre and petrol by Rs. 6.51 per litre, adding further pressure on consumers already facing rising inflation.

The successive hikes have triggered fresh concerns over transport costs and overall price inflation in the country.
