Gold prices in Pakistan jumped again on Saturday, bringing the precious metal closer to the Rs. 5 lac per tola mark as international prices continued to climb.
According to the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA), the price of 24-karat gold surged by Rs. 5,700 to reach Rs. 482,936 per tola.
The price of 10-gram gold also increased by Rs. 4,972, reaching Rs. 414,039.
The latest increase follows a Rs. 5,200 per tola jump on Friday, when gold closed at Rs. 477,136.
At the current pace, gold is now only around Rs. 17,000 away from the Rs. 5 lac milestone, raising the possibility that prices could cross the psychological level in the coming days if international bullion prices continue their upward trend.
In the international market, gold gained another $57 to reach $4,604 per ounce, including a $20 premium.
Meanwhile, silver prices remained unchanged from Friday, closing the week at Rs. 7,379 per tola.
