Flour prices have surged across several Pakistani cities, with the cost of a 20-kilogram bag rising by as much as Rs. 400 in a week and reaching Rs. 3,400 in Islamabad, Karachi, and Peshawar, according to the latest Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) data.

Bannu recorded the steepest increase, as the price of a 20kg bag climbed by Rs. 400 to Rs. 3,300. In Rawalpindi, the price rose by Rs. 347 to Rs. 3,333, while Islamabad saw an increase of Rs. 333 to Rs. 3,400.

In Sialkot, flour became Rs. 333 more expensive, taking the price to Rs. 3,133 per bag. Peshawar recorded a weekly increase of Rs. 300 to Rs. 3,400, while Sukkur saw the price rise by the same amount to Rs. 3,060.

In Karachi, the price increased by Rs. 200 to Rs. 3,400. Gujranwala also recorded a Rs. 200 rise, taking the price to Rs. 3,000, while Hyderabad saw the cost climb to Rs. 3,200 following an increase of Rs. 200.

Bahawalpur recorded a weekly increase of Rs. 180, bringing the price of a 20kg bag to Rs. 2,960. In Sargodha, the price rose by Rs. 106 to Rs. 2,866, while Larkana recorded an increase of Rs. 80 to Rs. 2,900.

Flour prices in Quetta increased by Rs. 70 to Rs. 3,030 per bag. Multan recorded a smaller rise of Rs. 66, taking the price to Rs. 2,866.

Prices remained unchanged in Lahore, Faisalabad, and Khuzdar. A 20kg bag continued to cost Rs. 2,300 in Lahore, Rs. 2,200 in Faisalabad, and Rs. 3,000 in Khuzdar.
