Electricity consumers across Pakistan are set to pay more as the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved another increase in power tariffs.

The regulator has raised electricity prices by Rs. 0.52 per unit under the quarterly tariff adjustment mechanism.

The increase will add an estimated Rs. 12.67 billion to the financial burden on consumers.

The additional amount will be recovered from consumers through their electricity bills for three months, from September to November 2026.

The adjustment will apply to consumers across the country, including those served by K-Electric.

The latest increase comes just days after NEPRA approved another Rs. 2.06 per unit hike under the monthly fuel adjustment mechanism.
