The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved a 70% increase in monthly subsistence allowance for Jammu and Kashmir refugees, raising it from Rs. 3,500 to Rs. 6,000 per person.

The revised payments will take effect from February 1, 2026, following approval at a meeting chaired by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad.

To support the adjustment, the ECC also cleared a Technical Supplementary Grant (TSG) of Rs. 578.838 million to cover related expenditures until June 30, 2026.

The committee directed authorities to incorporate future funding needs into the upcoming federal budget to ensure sustained financial support for registered refugees.
