The Economic Coordination Committee on Monday approved more than Rs. 9.5 billion in technical supplementary grants for passport services, NADRA projects, security-related schemes and helicopter repairs.

The meeting, chaired by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, approved a technical supplementary grant of Rs. 5 billion for the Directorate General Immigration and Passports to clear outstanding dues related to passport booklet printing and ensure uninterrupted passport services.

The committee also approved Rs. 2.19 billion for the NADRA TDP ERP/KP CCSDP project being implemented under the World Bank-financed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Citizen-Centered Service Delivery Project.

In addition, the ECC approved a technical supplementary grant of Rs. 2.12 billion for three development projects under the Interior Division, including the construction of a model prison in Islamabad, the National Police Hospital project, and the Foreign National Security Cell Dashboard and allied facilities.

Another Rs. 240.5 million was sanctioned for the Anti-Narcotics Force for helicopter repairs and operational requirements.

Separately, the committee approved a proposal from the Ministry of National Food Security and Research to continue gas supplies to the SNGPL-based urea plants of Fatima Fertilizer and Agritech until June 30, 2026.

The government said the decision would help ensure the availability of fertiliser and maintain stability in the domestic urea market.

The meeting was attended by Investment Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, Education Minister Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, National Food Security Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain, the planning minister and other senior government officials.
