The government has raised the price of petrol but sharply reduced the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) under the latest daily fuel price revision issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

Petrol has been increased by Rs. 2.97 per litre to Rs. 337.51, while diesel has been reduced by Rs. 32.63 to Rs. 363.06 per litre.

The new rates will remain effective until Thursday.

The latest revision follows a sharp rise in fuel prices over the past several days. On Tuesday, petrol was priced at Rs. 334.54 per litre, while diesel was Rs. 395.69 per litre.

Under the daily pricing system introduced this month, petrol has increased by Rs. 26.80 per litre, while diesel has risen by Rs. 39.76 per litre compared with the rates before daily revisions began.

The latest diesel cut comes after the government reached an agreement with oil refineries to lower diesel prices, with Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik saying the reduction would provide relief to farmers and public transport users.
