Federal Minister for Communications Abdul Aleem Khan has announced that construction on the long-awaited Sukkur-Hyderabad M-6 Motorway will formally commence next month, with the groundbreaking ceremony scheduled for November this year.
In a statement posted on X, the minister said construction of the motorway, which has remained pending for the past 30 years, is finally set to begin. He expressed gratitude to Allah Almighty for providing an opportunity to turn the historic M-6 Motorway project into a reality.
Aleem said the M-6 Motorway would give a new impetus to trade and commercial activities in Sindh as well as across Pakistan. The project would also play a significant role in promoting the country’s economic growth and strengthening regional connectivity.
He said President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would be specially invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony of the Sukkur-Hyderabad M-6 Motorway.
He added that the Chief Minister of Sindh and distinguished members of the provincial cabinet would also be extended special invitations to participate in the occasion.
In his message on X, the minister described the M-6 Motorway project as a major milestone in the development and prosperity of Sindh and Pakistan.
