The Excise Department has decided to streamline the collection of token tax and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) challans by integrating them into a digital system operated through traffic police, in a move aimed at improving transparency and convenience for citizens.
Officials said the new “One App” platform will enable users to pay traffic fines, token taxes, and other government dues through a single digital interface. The service will be rolled out across Punjab in phases starting next week.
According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Waqas Nazir, the application integrates data from nine different government departments. Citizens will be able to check outstanding dues by entering their vehicle registration number or by uploading an image of the number plate.
He added that the app has already been successfully used for issuing and managing digital traffic challans over the past two months and is now being expanded to include additional government payments.
Under the new system, payments made through the PSID mechanism will be directly transferred to the respective departmental accounts, ensuring quicker processing and enhanced financial transparency.
Authorities further stated that more departments will be added to the platform in the next phase, allowing citizens to access all vehicle-related payments and services through a single digital portal.
