The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced that all banks across the country will remain closed for public transactions on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, in observance of the annual bank holiday marking the beginning of the new fiscal year.

In a circular issued on Tuesday, the central bank said, “The State Bank of Pakistan will remain closed for public dealing on Wednesday, July 01, 2026, which will be observed as Bank Holiday.”

As a result, all banks, Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), and Microfinance Banks (MFBs) will remain closed for customer services on the day.

However, the SBP clarified that employees of banks, DFIs, and MFBs will report to work as usual, and only public dealing will remain suspended.
