Apple has raised prices for several MacBook and iPad models by up to $300, citing soaring semiconductor costs that the company says have made the increases unavoidable.

The MacBook Air now starts at $1,299, up $200, while the base MacBook Pro has increased $300 to $1,999. The MacBook Neo has also become $100 more expensive, with a new starting price of $699.

Among iPads, the iPad Air now costs $749, reflecting a $150 increase, while the base iPad Pro has risen $200 to $1,199.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said the higher prices were driven by a sharp increase in chip costs, calling the move “unavoidable.”

The price adjustments come as semiconductor manufacturers continue to charge more for advanced chips used in AI-powered devices and premium consumer electronics. While Apple has generally kept hardware prices stable in recent years, the latest increases mark one of its most significant pricing revisions for Macs and iPads and are expected to raise retail prices in markets that rely on imports, including Pakistan.
