Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has dismissed the United States as a global superpower, saying Tehran’s response in the ongoing war has exposed Washington’s limitations.

“We do not see them as a superpower, and we have shown the whole world that they are not,” Araghchi said in one of Iran’s strongest public statements since the fighting began.

His remarks came after the U.S. military said it had carried out a seventh consecutive night of strikes against targets in Iran.

Meanwhile, fresh attacks in the Gulf and continued disruption to commercial shipping have raised concerns that the ceasefire between Iran and the United States is coming under increasing pressure.

The war began after Israel launched military operations against Iran, with the United States later becoming directly involved. After weeks of hostilities, Washington and Tehran agreed to a ceasefire, but repeated military incidents and mutual accusations have cast doubt over its long-term durability.

Araghchi’s latest comments reflect Tehran’s increasingly defiant rhetoric as both sides continue to test the limits of the fragile truce.
