Gas & Oil Pakistan Ltd (GO) Chief Operating Officer Zeeshan Tayyeb clarified on Monday that no Aramco site has been commissioned in Pakistan to date. In a statement, Tayyeb assured that a formal announcement will be made at an appropriate time.

The clarification was issued in response to misleading images and news circulating on social media. GO, a business partner of the Saudi oil giant Aramco in Pakistan said that the circulated picture is of a site outside Pakistan and is not related to any operations within the country.

Earlier this year, Aramco, one of the world’s leading integrated energy and chemicals companies, completed its acquisition of a 40 percent equity stake in Gas & Oil Pakistan Ltd. The partnership marks a significant development in the energy sector, but as of now, no Aramco sites have been officially launched in Pakistan.
