Federal Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima made surprise late-night visits to petrol pumps in Islamabad to check the implementation of the Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme.

During the visits, she spoke to citizens about difficulties they faced while registering for the scheme and receiving the fuel subsidy. She also helped guide people through the registration process.

Shaza Fatima clarified that eligible citizens only need to register once and do not have to repeat the process.

She directed the relevant authorities to ensure that eligible registered users receive the relief without disruption.

The minister also ordered strict action against petrol pumps found delaying or refusing to provide subsidized fuel under the scheme.

The Prime Minister’s Fuel Relief Scheme was introduced to provide support to lower-income motorists facing higher petrol prices.

Under the scheme, eligible users of motorcycles, rickshaws, other two- and three-wheelers, and cars with engines up to 800cc can receive Rs. 100 per liter in fuel relief, subject to monthly limits.

The scheme is available to noncommercial users and is being administered through a digital Fuel Pass System, with registration and fuel tokens provided through SMS.
