Heavy rain and cloudbursts triggered flash floods in parts of Gilgit-Baltistan on Saturday, damaging homes, farmland and fruit trees and blocking roads.

Several areas of Ghizer were affected after intense rainfall caused floodwater to rush through villages in the early hours of the day.

Naubahar village suffered damage to a Jamaat Khana, while crops, orchards and agricultural land were also destroyed.

Flooding blocked the road linking Immit with Barjangle and damaged electricity transmission lines. The disruption left residents cut off from other areas and prompted calls for urgent relief and road restoration.

The Karakoram Highway (KKH) was also closed between Sost and Khunjerab Top after landslides blocked the route. Authorities were working to clear the highway, while tourists were advised to avoid unnecessary travel.

In Hunza, the KKH between Murtazaabad and Hassanabad was reopened after landslides disrupted traffic.

Meanwhile, rain and thunderstorms have continued in parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, bringing temperatures down sharply.

Babusar Top in Diamer also received its first snowfall of the season on Saturday. Traffic on Babusar Road, however, continued despite the snowfall.
