The government has resolved 11,695 pending net-metering applications following special instructions from Federal Minister for Power Division Awais Leghari.
A total of 16,654 applications had been pending during the shift from net metering to the new net-billing system. The remaining 4,959 applications are still undergoing verification.
The Pakistan Information Technology Company (PITC) has started contacting consumers whose cases have been resolved through SMS, WhatsApp and other digital channels.
Consumers can also check their application status through the online portal.
The Power Division has advised applicants not to pay any person or agent for faster processing. The direct communication process is intended to prevent unnecessary third-party involvement and protect consumers from intermediaries.
Officials are verifying the remaining applications under the applicable rules to confirm legitimate cases and prevent illegal connections.
Leghari has directed authorities to complete the pending verification process at the earliest and provide consumers with clear updates on their applications.
The Power Division said the government supports solar and renewable energy and aims to ensure that legitimate consumers receive their rights through a transparent and sustainable system.
