Pakistan’s leading mobile network operators, Jazz, Zong, Ufone, and Telenor, have raised the prices of several call and data packages, with some bundles becoming up to 33 percent more expensive over the past year, according to updated tariff details published by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority.

The PTA has released revised tariff sheets for the top 15 hybrid and data-only bundles offered by the four operators, now available on its official website. The data shows that monthly hybrid call and data packages have climbed by as much as Rs. 500, while 15-day hybrid bundles have become costlier by up to Rs. 300.

Weekly hybrid packages have recorded price increases of up to Rs. 130. Three-day bundles are now more expensive by up to Rs. 21, two-day packages by up to Rs. 20, and one-day hybrid packages by up to Rs. 5.

PTA revamps consumer awareness portal

The regulator said it has enhanced the Consumer Awareness section of its website as part of broader efforts to improve tariff transparency. The revamped section now features a more user-friendly display of tariff trends, including package-wise quarterly prices, annual percentage increases, package validity, and the incentives offered by each operator.

PTA stated that the initiative is designed to help telecom consumers compare available packages and make informed decisions based on the latest pricing trends. The authority encouraged users to regularly visit both its own website and the websites of mobile operators for updated tariff information.

The regulator added that the move reflects its commitment to protecting consumer interests and promoting greater transparency in Pakistan’s telecom sector.
