Telenor Pakistan will formally amalgamate into Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML), operating under the Ufone 5G brand, with effect from July 2026, completing one of the most significant transactions in Pakistan’s telecom sector.
The amalgamation follows the final statutory approval granted by the Islamabad High Court, concluding a comprehensive regulatory and legal process involving multiple institutions. Following the merger, Telenor Pakistan will cease to exist as a separate legal entity.
As part of the integration, Telenor Pakistan’s operations, network infrastructure, and customer base will be absorbed into PTML (Ufone 5G), creating a larger combined entity with broader market reach, a stronger spectrum portfolio, and increased capacity to invest in next-generation connectivity and digital services across Pakistan.
Commenting on the development, PTCL President and Group Chief Executive Officer Hatem Bamatraf said the merger marks a defining moment for both the company and the country’s telecom industry.
He said the company was grateful to the Government of Pakistan and all institutions involved for their support throughout the process. He also thanked customers for their trust during the transition and acknowledged the efforts of employees whose commitment helped make the milestone possible.
Bamatraf said the merged company aims to deliver advanced products and services that set a new benchmark for digital experience in Pakistan.
The combined entity, a wholly owned subsidiary of PTCL, will continue to operate as PTML and has pledged to expand 5G coverage, strengthen digital infrastructure, and improve services for millions of users nationwide.
The company said customers of both Ufone 5G and Telenor Pakistan will continue to receive uninterrupted services during the integration process, while benefiting from improved connectivity and an enhanced digital experience.
