The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has proposed a 7 percent increase in salaries and pensions for provincial government employees in its Budget 2026-27.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi announced the proposal while presenting the provincial budget in the KP Assembly on Friday. The move is aimed at providing financial relief to government employees and pensioners amid rising living costs.

The proposed increase covers both serving employees and retired government workers. However, it will only take effect after the provincial budget is approved by the KP Assembly.

The salary and pension hike is one of several relief measures included in the new budget, which will now be debated before lawmakers vote on its passage.
