Thousands of Easypaisa users across Pakistan are facing difficulties accessing their accounts due to an ongoing service disruption affecting a section of the platform’s customer base, affected users told RBN.

According to reports from users, many customers are unable to log in to their Easypaisa accounts despite entering the correct PIN. Sources familiar with the matter said retailer and merchant accounts appear to remain accessible, while a large number of regular customer accounts are currently affected.

Several users have also reported problems with biometric authentication, including fingerprint verification, preventing them from accessing their accounts through the mobile app.

In an official statement, Easypaisa acknowledged the issue, confirming that some users are experiencing intermittent service disruptions.

“We are currently experiencing intermittent service disruptions affecting some users. Our teams are actively working to resolve the issue and restore services as quickly as possible,” the company said.

The cause of the disruption has not been disclosed, and Easypaisa has yet to provide an estimated timeline for the full restoration of services.

The outage has impacted customers attempting to access their accounts and perform transactions through the app. Easypaisa said its technical teams are working to resolve the issue, with further updates expected once services are fully restored.

The disruption comes at a time when reports suggest Norway-based Telenor ASA is exploring the sale of its controlling stake in Easypaisa Bank, a move that could mark the telecom group’s complete exit from Pakistan after more than two decades in the market.
