Attock Refinery Limited has restarted its main crude distillation unit after a brief suspension caused by disruptions in oil transportation and supply chains, according to a notice filed with the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
The refinery confirmed that its primary processing unit, with a capacity of 32,400 barrels per day, is back online following the restoration of crude oil deliveries and the resumption of product dispatch through oil tankers.
Operations were halted after an unexpected interruption in oil tanker movement, linked to heightened security measures and road closures in Islamabad amid high-level foreign visits and diplomatic activity connected to US–Iran talks.
These restrictions affected both incoming crude supplies and outgoing fuel shipments, leading to a temporary buildup of petrol and diesel stocks at the refinery while fresh crude inflows slowed significantly.
Earlier, officials had cautioned about possible localized fuel supply pressures due to the disruption, although overall national stock levels remained stable.
With operations now normalized, supply chains are expected to gradually stabilize, helping ease distribution pressure, particularly in northern regions.
