The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a flood warning for parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir, forecasting low to medium floods in the River Kabul at Nowshera and flash flooding in its tributaries, including Kohat Toi, Kurram, and Gomal rivers, as well as various nullahs in Kashmir.

Urban flooding is also expected in Peshawar, Mardan, and Nowshera between April 7 and 8. Residents of low-lying and vulnerable areas, particularly near streams and nullahs, are urged to remain alert, avoid unnecessary movement, and follow guidance from local authorities.

The PMD has advised concerned agencies to remain vigilant and implement precautionary measures to minimize risks to life and property.

Director General of PMD, M. Aleem Ul Hassan, emphasized that early preparation and community awareness are key to preventing disaster impacts during this period.
