Sazgar Engineering Works Limited has announced a major management transition alongside an ambitious expansion strategy aimed at strengthening its position in Pakistan’s growing four-wheeler and hybrid vehicle market.
The company’s board has appointed Saira Asad Hameed as Chairperson and Mian Asad Hameed as Chief Executive Officer for a three-year term effective March 28, 2026. The leadership reshuffle comes as the automaker accelerates investment in passenger vehicle production.
As part of its growth plan, the board approved the establishment of a fully automated paint shop along with related support facilities for four-wheeler manufacturing. The project carries an estimated investment of Rs. 22 billion, excluding land acquisition costs.
Upon completion, the expansion is expected to increase the company’s installed production and assembly capacity for four-wheel vehicles to 54,000 units annually on a single-shift basis.
The latest investment follows the successful execution of an earlier Rs. 11.5 billion expansion program that included infrastructure development, warehousing upgrades, and installation of a 5.7-megawatt solar power system at its manufacturing site.
The company also indicated that the first rollout of its completely knocked down (CKD) model of the TANK 500 Hi4-T 4X4 plug-in hybrid and hybrid electric variants is expected by the end of March 2026, highlighting its increasing focus on advanced and electrified vehicle offerings.
Alongside the senior leadership appointments, Saeed Iqbal Khan has been named Chief Operating Officer for the three-wheeler and automotive parts division, while Mian Muhammad Ali Hameed will serve as Chief Operating Officer for the car division, both for three-year terms.
To support long-term growth, the board approved Rs. 4 billion for the acquisition of approximately 900 kanals of land near its car manufacturing facility for future expansion projects. Separately, the company plans to purchase a commercial plot on Pine Avenue in Lahore valued at around Rs. 1.1 billion to establish a company-owned showroom, after-sales service center, and corporate offices.
The announcements signal Sazgar’s continued transition toward higher-value passenger vehicles and hybrid technology as competition intensifies in Pakistan’s evolving automotive sector.
