The All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association has warned that thousands of fuel stations across the country could be shut down if their concerns are not addressed, raising the risk of a nationwide fuel supply disruption.

In a statement, the association said it has formally reached out to Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik, seeking an urgent meeting to discuss ongoing issues. It added that a previous request sent on March 6 went unanswered.

The association highlighted that the petroleum sector is facing a range of challenges, including financial pressure, operational difficulties, pricing concerns, and frequent policy changes. It urged the government to involve industry stakeholders in the decision-making process to find sustainable solutions.

Representing an estimated 14,000 to 15,000 petrol pump owners, the group emphasized that its members are under significant strain and require immediate attention from authorities.

It further warned that if its demands are not met, it may be forced to shut down petrol pumps across Pakistan, which could lead to a serious fuel shortage. The association added that any resulting crisis would be the responsibility of the Petroleum Division.
