The 6-month Karachi Inter-Bank Offered Rate (KIBOR) fell sharply to 11.44 percent on May 6, 2025, following a significant policy rate cut by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

According to a brief alert from Topline Securities, the 6M KIBOR declined by 64 basis points from 12.08 percent the previous day, reflecting the impact of the SBP’s recent 100 basis point reduction in its key interest rate.

The benchmark KIBOR now stands just 44 basis points below the central bank’s new policy rate, which stands at 11 percent.
