In a major boost for Pakistan’s electric vehicle (EV) industry, Regal Automobile Industries Limited has been granted an assembling certificate for its Seres 3 electric crossover SUV. The certification, issued by the Engineering Development Board (EDB), confirms Regal Automobile’s capabilities in in-house assembling and manufacturing, effective from October 2, 2024. This approval allows the company to produce two variants of the Seres 3 EV locally.
The Seres 3, a 5-seater electric crossover SUV, will now be available in two variants: one with a 49 kWh battery and another with a 54 kWh battery. This development follows the vehicle’s initial introduction as a completely built unit (CBU) in Pakistan in November 2023. Initially, only the 49 kWh variant was available, launched at a price of Rs. 9,100,000. The price was subsequently reduced to Rs. 8,390,000, where it has remained stable, making the Seres 3 EV the most affordable option in its segment in Pakistan.
The introduction of the 54 kWh variant, featuring a larger battery, marks a significant step forward for both Regal Automobile and the country’s EV market. This variant promises an extended driving range and enhanced performance, appealing to a broader range of consumers.
