Customs officials at Karachi Airport have recovered foreign currency worth Rs. 11.8 million from a woman passenger who was preparing to travel to Dubai.

The passenger was traveling on a private airline flight when customs officials searched her luggage. Officials said she had allegedly made an incorrect declaration about the foreign currency in her possession.

The search resulted in the recovery of $33,600, €300, £2,570 and AED 19,815.

According to customs officials, the combined value of the currencies is approximately Rs. 11.8 million.

The foreign currency has been seized under the Customs Act, 1969, following the alleged false declaration.

Customs authorities have also registered an FIR against the passenger and initiated further legal proceedings in the case.
