At least 16 Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) officers have been identified as holding dual nationality or having permanent residence abroad, according to an official document.
This comes a few days after FBR oredered its staff to disclose foreign citizenship, passports, travel documents and marriages to foreign nationals.
The list includes 10 officers from Inland Revenue Services and six from Pakistan Customs Services. Their grades range from BS-17 to BS-21, with one of the listed officers serving in BS-21.
The Inland Revenue Services list includes Sajjad Taslim Azam (BS-21), Amna Faiz Bhatti (BS-20), Shazia Memon (BS-20), Naeem Babar (BS-20), Iram Shabbir (BS-20), Sanaullah Nawazani (BS-20), Uzma Saqib (BS-20), Muhammad Asfandyar Janjua (BS-19), Salma Shaheen (BS-19) and Masud Humayun (BS-17).
The Pakistan Customs Services list names Zahra Haider (BS-20), Tayyaba Bukhari (BS-20), Jamshed Ali Talpur (BS-19), Misbah Khatana (BS-19), Baasit Hussain (BS-19) and Farva Batool (BS-17).
The document also states that, under the Civil Servants (Disclosure and Regulation of Foreign Nationality) Rules, 2026, FBR officers have been directed to disclose information about any foreign nationality within 90 days of the FBR’s June 9, 2026 circular.
Importantly, the document refers to both dual nationality and permanent residence abroad. Therefore, it does not mean that all 16 officers are dual citizens.
