Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves posted a modest increase during the week ended July 17, 2026, driven by a rise in the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) holdings.
According to data released by the central bank, SBP-held foreign exchange reserves increased by $33 million during the week to $17.258 billion, compared with $17.226 billion in the previous week.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s total liquid foreign exchange reserves stood at $22.669 billion as of July 17.
Of the total, the SBP accounted for $17.258 billion, while commercial banks held $5.411 billion in foreign exchange reserves.
