Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik held a meeting with Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki to review ongoing energy cooperation and explore ways to further strengthen bilateral ties in the petroleum sector.

During the talks, the minister thanked Saudi Arabia for its consistent support in helping Pakistan meet its energy requirements. He highlighted the preferential arrangements in petroleum supplies, saying they have played an important role in easing pressure on the country’s energy needs during difficult economic conditions.

Both sides reviewed current collaboration in the energy sector and exchanged views on expanding long-term strategic cooperation. The Saudi envoy reaffirmed Riyadh’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s energy security and assured continued cooperation going forward.

Officials noted that recent technical-level discussions between the two countries are progressing positively, particularly in areas related to refinery upgrades and potential energy investment projects.

The Saudi ambassador also acknowledged Pakistan’s role in promoting regional stability and appreciated its efforts toward peace and cooperation in the region.

The meeting comes as Pakistan continues efforts to secure reliable energy supplies, attract foreign investment, and strengthen partnerships with Gulf allies amid external account pressures and volatile global energy markets.

Saudi Arabia remains a key energy partner for Pakistan, providing oil supply arrangements, deferred payment support, and ongoing discussions on investment in the energy and refining sectors.

The petroleum minister reiterated Pakistan’s interest in further expanding strategic energy cooperation with Saudi Arabia, especially with Saudi Aramco, and expressed appreciation for the kingdom’s continued support.
