The Pakistani rupee continued its gradual recovery against the US dollar on Tuesday, extending its winning streak to 265 consecutive days as the greenback fell to Rs. 276.87 in the interbank market.
The rupee gained around three paisas during the day, continuing a trend that began on December 25, 2025.
At the latest pace, the rupee could reach Rs. 275 against the dollar earlier next year. This estimate assumes the average daily movement recorded between October 15 and October 20 continues. Actual exchange rates may change, and the projection is not a guarantee.
The rupee’s performance against other major currencies was mixed on Tuesday.
The British pound rose to Rs. 369.50, while the Australian dollar increased to Rs. 193.53. The Canadian dollar climbed to Rs. 196.97, and the euro reached Rs. 310.57.
The Chinese yuan also gained ground against the rupee, rising to Rs. 41.46.
Meanwhile, the Malaysian ringgit edged down to Rs. 67.82. The UAE dirham slipped to Rs. 75.39, while the Saudi riyal increased to Rs. 73.81.
The dollar’s continued decline against the rupee marks an extended period of gradual appreciation for the local currency. However, whether the rupee can maintain its current trajectory will depend on future market movements and changes in foreign exchange demand and supply.
