Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to introduce a new construction package aimed at revitalizing Pakistan’s construction sector, with an expected launch next month, according to sources from the Finance Ministry.
The proposed package, which awaits approval from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), will not include a tax amnesty, as confirmed by the sources. Instead, the focus will be on providing targeted facilities to stimulate growth within the sector.
Key incentives under consideration include benefits for multi-storied buildings, reduced map fees, and potential exemptions for rooftop accommodations and third-floor additions on existing two-story buildings. The package also aims to enhance financing options for affordable housing projects, providing much-needed support to this critical area.
