Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has elevated Lieutenant General Aamer Raza, HI(M), SBt, to the rank of Four-Star General and appointed him as the Commander National Strategic Command.
The announcement was made by the Prime Minister’s Office on its official X account on Thursday.
General Aamer Raza had been serving as the Chief of the General Staff (CGS) of the Pakistan Army before his promotion. As CGS, he oversaw key operational and intelligence functions within the military.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended his congratulations to General Aamer Raza on both his promotion and new appointment, expressing confidence in his ability to shoulder the critical national responsibility.
With the appointment, General Aamer Raza assumes command of the National Strategic Command, one of Pakistan’s most important military leadership positions overseeing the country’s strategic command structure.
