The federal government has increased the price of petrol for the sixth consecutive day, taking the rate to Rs. 398.96 per litre, according to the latest Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) update.
Petrol has become Rs. 2.31 more expensive, while the price of high speed diesel has increased by Rs. 0.78 to Rs. 395.72 per litre.
On Wednesday, petrol had risen by Rs. 1.82 to Rs. 396.65 per litre, while diesel was reduced by Rs. 0.91 to Rs. 394.94 per litre.
Since the introduction of daily fuel price revisions, the petrol price has increased by Rs. 87.85 per litre, while diesel has become Rs. 72.42 more expensive per litre.
The latest revision takes petrol close to the Rs. 400 per litre mark, with the price having risen from Rs. 310.71 per litre before the daily pricing mechanism was introduced in July.
Diesel, meanwhile, has moved to Rs. 395.72 per litre from Rs. 323.30 per litre during the same period.
