The government has raised petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) prices again, pushing petrol closer to Rs. 400 per liter after eight consecutive daily increases.

According to the latest Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) update, petrol price has increased by Rs. 6.88 to Rs. 391.22 per liter.

Diesel has also become more expensive, rising by Rs. 5.62 to Rs. 421.45 per liter.

The latest increase came a day after petrol went up by Rs. 4.10 and diesel by Rs. 6.41, taking their prices to Rs. 384.34 and Rs. 415.83 per liter, respectively, on September 15.

Since daily fuel price revisions began, petrol has become Rs. 79.92 per liter more expensive, while diesel has increased by Rs. 91.94 per liter.

Petrol now costs Rs. 391.22 per liter, compared with Rs. 310.71 before the daily pricing system started. Diesel has climbed to Rs. 421.45 from Rs. 323.30 per liter.
